Increasing Geriatric Population and High Prevalence of Vasculitis Boosts Demand for Vasculitis Treatment in US
Vasculitis is a medical condition in which tissues in the body are damaged due to overproduction of the protective lining of the blood vessels. Vasculitis means inflammation of these blood vessels. The bigger the damaged blood vessel, the greater the inflammation; and the more impaired the sensitive body tissue, the greater the damage will probably be. Vasculitis most commonly occurs in older individuals. Antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis (AAV) is an uncommon disease with an incidence of about 20 per million population per year in Europe and North America.
