Essential Oils Offer Antiseptic, Antibacterial, Anti-Fungal, and Anti-Inflammatory Properties

Aromatherapy is the name given to a therapeutic method of using essential oils for the purpose of affecting a person's mood and/or physical wellbeing. Essential oils are a concentrated, liquefied, plant-based liquid containing various volatile organic compounds in plants. They are obtained by distillation or through a process of solvent extraction from aromatic herbs such as lavender, chamomile, geranium, jasmine, rose, and bergamot, scented flowers including orange, lemon, grapefruit, and eucalyptus. The oil obtained from these plants are known collectively as essential oils. The process of extraction requires two main steps which include a solvent bath and a filterless oil extractor.
