Immunomodulating Therapy Plays a Major Role in Hemophilia Treatment
Hemophilia is a medical condition in which the ability of the blood to clot is severely reduced, causing the sufferer to bleed severely from even a slight injury. This condition is very painful. The blood does not clot normally in the veins and this is what makes this condition so painful. There are three main types of hemophilia . Thrombophilia type I is where the bleeding is caused by the failure of the Thrombin protein. In thrombophilia type II, the failure of the Thrombin protein is caused by the co-factor factor VIII which does not work properly. In thrombophilia type III, the disorder is caused by the co-factor factor IX that is not working properly. The most effective hemophilia treatment is to replace or otherwise replenish the clotting factors in the affected veins so that the blood clots properly.
