Spin-On Hydraulic Filter; an Integral Part of Every Vehicle

Spin-on filters are used to protect individual valves, pumps, or the entire hydraulic circuit from contamination as per ISO 4406. Spin-on hydraulic filters are available in four configurations; single cartridge in-line, single cartridge flange for installation to the tank cover, in-line with two parallel cartridge mounted side-by-side, and in-line with two parallel cartridge on the same axis. Factors such as viscosity, liquid type, and the quality and efficiency need to be considered while sizing filters. Spin-on filters are a type of filter that is designed specifically for the removal of chemicals from the water supply.

Spin-on hydraulic filters primarily protect components from contaminants produced by the gear drives mostly due to the wear on clutches, wet brakes, and gears. Moreover, spin-on filters aid in high corrosion environments. Since the automotive industry in the UAE is growing at a rapid pace, both automotive production and sales have increased significantly in the recent past. Around 235 thousand vehicles were sold in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 2019. Moreover, more than 150 automotive manufacturers participated in the 2017 Dubai International Motor Show, as analysts forecasted that new car sales in the UAE will reach 267,000 by 2020.

The global pandemic (COVID-19 outbreak) has affected and disrupted the supply chain of the whole automotive industry with stagnation in production facilities worldwide, which is expected to affect the demand for automotive filters, as the demand for automotive filters is related to the production and sale of vehicles. A spin-on filter consists of many parts, such as a gasket, bypass valve, drain-back valve, and steel canister. More than 80% of the problems in hydraulics are caused by contaminated fluid, so it is important to keep the system fluid clean and free from contaminants. Spin-on filters are low-pressure hydraulic filters that are used in return line or as suction line filters in hydraulic systems.
