Tire cord and tire fabrics are typically used in modern-day pneumatic tires as reinforcement materials to keep tires in shape and also support vehicle weight. In the manufacturing of tire, after the spinning and polymerization process, high-quality nylon and polyester yarns are twisted and woven into fabrics.
Typically, nylon tyre cord fabrics (NTCF) are utilized as reinforcement in tires. They are intended to keep tires running longer and have a substantial impact on the functioning of the tires. Fibers of various lengths and thickness are manufactured using holes of different and drawing them out at various speeds. The yarn formed is stretched around three or four folds of its original length so that its macromolecules lie parallel to the length of the fiber. Greige fabric exhibits weak bonding to rubber and hence it is injected with resorcinol-formaldehyde-latex (RFL) solution. It acts as a bonding material between rubber and fabric. On the contrary, the dipped fabric is hot-stretched, in order to reduce the impact of thermal-shrinkage. Key tire manufacturers in the U.S, the U.K., and Italy are focused on delivering advanced tires that are incorporated with tire cords and tire fabrics. These new tires are developed using a textile and metal reinforcement.
