Wearable-Sensor-Based Fall Detection System Provide Safe and Accurate Assessment of Body Movement

A sensor-based human falling detection system uses small wearable sensors to detect, recognize and prioritize body motion patterns of human body movement, and to send an alert to a designated mobile dispatching station to determine the safest route to follow. The system has been designed for both the police and the military to aid in the recovery of lost or injured individuals. The system utilizes state-of-the-art technologies to collect the data to be used in these applications. It is designed in such a manner that all the information is kept confidential and protected from unauthorized use.

The sensors used in the detection system are not visible and can easily be removed to ensure total privacy. In fact, the sensors can easily be attached to clothing without any harm to the person wearing the apparel.Sensor-based fall detection systems are capable of providing a quick and accurate assessment of whether or not the individual falls. They can detect different types of motion such as walking, running, walking with legs bent, and also standing up straight. If a person falls, the sensors pick up the signal and a message is sent to the control station. 

The control station compares the signal with a database of known falls and sends the necessary information to the mobile dispatching station to determine whether or not the individual should continue to proceed.Once a certain point is reached, the system contacts the designated emergency services unit and the person needs to be retrieved immediately. This is important because sometimes, a fall could result in serious injuries to the individual's body or they could get seriously injured if someone does not stop them before they get hit.

A sensor-based fall detection system can provide a higher level of security for a person by tracking the individual's movement and location. In order to determine whether they have changed their location and if someone is following them the system can also provide detailed information such as their speed, rate of descent, and the speed at which they come down a slope. With the right sensor, the sensor-based fall detection system allows the person to easily identify individuals that need to be monitored or have their movements monitored.I
